These terms govern your use of rhyd.media (the "site"), the RHYD podcast, the RHYD newsletter, and any RSS, JSON, or podcast feeds we publish (collectively, "RHYD"). RHYD is published by Rhyd Media, operating in São Paulo, Brazil. By using RHYD you agree to these terms; if you don't, please don't use the site.
1. About the content
Everything published on RHYD is editorial commentary and analysis. We write about technology, culture, finance, infrastructure, and place. The content reflects the personal views and analysis of the named author at the time of publication. It is not the official position of any organisation, employer, business partner, or affiliate of the author, and should not be read as such.
Nothing on RHYD is investment advice, financial advice, legal advice, tax advice, medical advice, or professional advice of any kind. We write about markets, capital cycles, regulation, and technology because these are topics worth understanding — not because we are licensed to advise you on them, because we are not. If you are making a decision that involves money, your health, your legal position, or your business, please consult a qualified professional before acting. Anything you read on RHYD that informs such a decision is read at your own risk.
Where we make predictions, they are predictions. Where we make criticisms, they are criticisms. Where we steelman a position before dismantling it, the steelman is a steelman. We do our best to be accurate and fair, and to flag uncertainty where it exists, but we do not warrant that every claim on RHYD is correct, current, or complete. We reserve the right to update, correct, or retract published material at any time.
2. Copyright and republication
All written content, podcast audio, artwork, and original media on RHYD is © 2026 Rhyd Media unless otherwise noted. RHYD is the canonical home for this work.
You may:
- Link to RHYD freely, on any platform, for any non-commercial or editorial purpose.
- Quote brief excerpts (up to 150 words) with attribution and a link back to the original RHYD URL, for purposes of commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching, research, or similar fair-use contexts.
- Subscribe to and use our feeds for personal reading, aggregation, and podcast consumption.
You may not:
- Republish full articles, podcast episodes, or substantial portions of RHYD content without our prior written permission.
- Use RHYD content to train machine-learning models, language models, or other automated systems, without our prior written permission. This includes scraping, mirroring, or systematic ingestion for any commercial or research purpose involving model training.
- Strip attribution, modify content, or present RHYD work as your own.
- Use RHYD content, name, or branding in any way that suggests endorsement of a product, person, position, or organisation we have not endorsed.
If you've cross-posted RHYD content elsewhere with our permission (for example, syndicated to Substack or a personal blog), you must set the canonical URL on the cross-post to the original RHYD URL. This is non-negotiable; it's how we maintain canonical authority over our own work.
3. Podcast guests and third parties
Guests appearing on RHYD podcasts do so voluntarily and on the understanding that the conversation will be published. Where relevant, guests are informed in advance about how the episode will be used and have the opportunity to review their participation. Views expressed by guests are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Rhyd Media or its hosts.
If you are a guest who has appeared on a RHYD podcast and you wish to discuss the use, editing, or removal of content involving you, please contact us at the address in section 8.
4. Comments, links, and external content
RHYD does not host comments on the site. Discussion happens on external platforms (Substack, social media), and content on those platforms is governed by their terms, not ours. Where RHYD links to external websites, products, or services, those links are provided for reference and do not constitute endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any external site.
5. Takedown and correction requests
If you believe content on RHYD infringes your copyright, misrepresents you, or contains a material factual error, please contact us at legal@rhyd.media. Include:
- A description of the content in question (URL, episode, paragraph).
- An explanation of the issue (alleged infringement, factual error, misrepresentation).
- Your contact information.
- For copyright claims: confirmation that you are the rights-holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
We aim to respond to substantiated takedown requests within seven business days. We reserve the right to correct, annotate, or remove content at our discretion, and we may decline requests we consider unsubstantiated, vexatious, or contrary to fair-use principles. Removed content may be replaced with a note explaining the removal where this serves the historical record.
6. No warranty
RHYD is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that RHYD will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the site is free of viruses or harmful components.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rhyd Media and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising from your use of RHYD, your reliance on any content published on RHYD, or any decision you make based on such content. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which damages are sought and regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, certain consumer protections in your jurisdiction).
8. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Any dispute arising from or related to RHYD or these terms shall be subject to the courts of São Paulo, Brazil, except where applicable consumer-protection laws in your jurisdiction provide for a different forum.
For all matters relating to these terms — including takedown requests, copyright questions, guest enquiries, and corrections — please contact legal@rhyd.media. General questions go to hello@rhyd.media.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the site. Continued use of RHYD after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
